About the Tarot Deck:
The Shadows We Cast Tarot is a 79 card deck, created to guide you through the shadows and awaken your inner light. The voice of this deck, as with my other work, is gentle yet direct. This is a full 78 card deck based on the Rider-Waite-Smith system, with a 79th bonus card. More about the deck at the bottom of this page.
The Cards:
- 79 total cards.
- The cards measure approximately 2.75in x 4.75in (70mm x 120mm). This is the same size as the Star Seeker tarot deck.
- The cards are printed on a sturdy 350gsm paper with a luxe semi-matte finish. This is the same finish as the Star Seeker oracle deck. It is a lovely matte finish with a slightly drier/silkier touch compared to the Star Seeker tarot deck (slightly easier to shuffle but still matte).
- The edges are a matte midnight bluepurple hue.
- Borderless.
The Box:
- Rigid clamshell style flip-box (same as our other decks).
- Silky soft semi-matte finish.
- Fits the cards and guidebook.
The Guidebook:
- 101 page guide with one page description per card, including reversal keywords. Includes a few exercises & spreads.
- Cover is soft semi-matte finish with full color design.
- Interior content is black & white text.
- Booklet comes inside the box with the cards and is the same size as the cards.

The Shadows We Cast was born from my own journey through the shadows, during a very difficult time in my life. As more of who I thought I was fell away, I unraveled, only to uncover more of myself. I traveled through the shadows only to meet my own. And once I started to accept her, she helped me to awaken my light and guide me through the darkness. This 79 card tarot deck is the expression of that guiding light, born from shadow.
Creating these cards carried me through a really challenging season in my life, and helped me to find myself again. I hope they can be a gentle friend to you, if you're needing one to guide you through your own dark night. To help you remember your own light. To weave yourself anew if you need it. To make sense of the shadows we cast.
This is a full 78 card deck based on the Rider-Waite-Smith system, with a 79th bonus card. You can keep this extra card in the deck or remove it. This deck is for everyone, and I especially recommend it for moving through challenges, shadow work, and for when you need to reveal truth with softness. As with my other Star Seeker decks, I hand illustrate everything and render in Photoshop without the use of AI.
In this deck we are transported to a place of healing and remembrance. The voice of this deck, as with my other work, is gentle yet direct. When I illustrated each card, it was as if a deep feeling or energy was pouring through me. Something I couldn't quite explain, but just made sense. For that reason, I imagine many deeply feeling people will connect with this deck.
I hope the artwork speaks to you, and transports you to a place of healing and adventure. Sometimes all we need is to step back from our lives and see ourselves through a story. Through the soft grounded energy of the Pentacles. The cutting clarity of the Swords. The burning brightness of the Wands. The dreamy sweetness of the Cups. And the bold intensity of the Major Arcana. May you see yourself in the story of these cards, and carry their lessons back to you.
